Drip Coffee Series EP 2 | Pouring Basics

DRIP COFFEE SERIES EP 2 | POURING BASICS - STTOKE INC

Did you know there's a difference between the first and second pour in drip coffee?

The first pour, known as the pre-infusion, and second pour as the blooming.

Pre-Infusion soaks your coffee grounds, the interaction with the water opens up flavours and aromas in them, making for an even and flavourful extraction. Try to aim for around 30 seconds; although this can vary slightly with different recipes.

Blooming is where you'll witness tiny coffee eruptions caused by the release of Carbon Dioxide trapped within the grounds. Blooming results in a more flavourful and enjoyable cuppa as essential coffee oils are released.

Give it a swirl, and Coffee Up!
